This review focuses on the Gipsy 8 Denier Cooling Matte Luxury Tights
Packaging
The Gipsy 8 Denier Cooling Matte Luxury Tights are packaged conventionally, but with a design uniformity that runs through most of Gipsy's output.
The tights are folded around a plain card rectangle, which is then wrapped in a cellophane bag.
Everything is then housed in a card envelope.
Material and features
These tights are made from 90% Nylon and 10% Elastane.
They are marketed as "perfect legwear for hot weather" and feature a special "cooling breeze" yarn that aims to let air circulate and keep the legs cool.
The yarn feels very silky and soft to the touch and this is one of the standout features.
The appearance on the leg is mainly matte although the tights do have a slight noticeable shine.
The tights are sheer to waist. There is a barely visible reinforced brief with a gusset. Seams are conventional and in the XL size there is no rear comfort panel.
Toes are reinforced.
There is a 3cm wide waistband.
Fit, sizing and wearing experience
The Gipsy 8 Denier Cooling Matte Luxury Tights are available in four sizes:
- Small
- Medium
- Large
- XL
The size chart indicates that these tights will fit up to 5'10" and this is accurate. That is my height and they stretched to accommodate my size well.
Once on, I was impressed with how comfortable these tights felt on the skin. They are really smooth and sensual, and this gives them a wonderful glide under trousers.
The high Elastane content enables them to hold to the legs with no sagging or wrinkling anywhere.
The brief also had plenty of room and stretched comfortably over my waist.
In appearance they provide smooth even coverage. For 8 denier, they seem remarkably robust.
